The first stage of preload for the Port Nikau Town Centre is now underway, marking another important step in bringing the future Town Centre to life.

Making progress

Around 3,500 tonnes of material is arriving each day, with a total of 60,000 tonnes to be placed up to three metres high across approximately 12,000m².

The preload process is designed to prepare the land for future development, allowing the ground to settle and strengthen ahead of construction. This is an important part of preparing the site to ensure it is ready for the next stage of development.

With the preload now underway, we’re continuing to make progress towards construction of the Town Centre from 2029, which will bring new amenities and services to the growing waterfront development. Positioned just a short walk for residents, there will be local shops and cafés to enjoy, along with countless other commercial opportunities.
