Waitai Trail now open

There’s a new way to experience Port Nikau. Following its debut at our Community Day earlier this year, we’re excited to announce that the Waitai Trail is now officially open for public use, with signage in place to help guide you along the route.

Explore the coastline

The current trail is a flat gravel walkway and cycle path, stretching just under 4 km. Starting from 325 Port Road, with parking available beside Acropolis Restaurant and the Port Nikau showroom, the route takes you towards the coast before looping around the Superyacht Wharf, out to Waitai Point, and along the Park Point walkway through Stage 1A. The trail then returns via Port Road, creating another enjoyable loop suitable for walkers, runners, and cyclists.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing waterfront stroll, a scenic bike ride, or simply a new way to explore the area, the Waitai Trail offers a chance to experience the beauty of Port Nikau from a different perspective.

Growing with Port Nikau

As Port Nikau continues to develop, so too will the Waitai Trail. Future stages will extend the walkway around more of the coastline and throughout the wider development, creating even more opportunities to connect with the waterfront and enjoy everything the community has to offer.

Plan your visit

Grab your walking shoes, explore the trail map, and discover the newest way to experience Port Nikau. Whether it’s your first visit or you’re returning for another walk, the Waitai Trail is ready to explore.
